100 word reflection

1.4 If you were a doctor developing the technology to clone humans, how would you answer the following questions?
a) Where would you conduct your cloning of humans?
b) What kinds of people would you clone?
c) What is more important: cloning the first human ever, or creating a healthy cloned child?
d) Would you want the world to know about your experiments, or would you want to keep them a secret?

Since we don't know what will happen when cloning a human, we should get some information about it, and how clones react, then see how it improves onwards. In terms on who I would clone then that would pretty much resemble who would want to be cloned, you can  always get test subjects for what you want.
I don't really know what's better to be honest. But I think if creating a healthy cloned child can be more secure then that can give us information on how to clone a human adult correctly. I would give out the information obtained.

TKR Chapter 12

1) Soraya writes sad stories while amir writes happy ones *not sure about this one*

2)The time when many new things startes to happen during Baba's case, giving him insecurity.

3)He'd rather not get an operation and treatment. He wanted to "be the last moment of his life with a Pashtun".

4)She had more courage to tell the truth, while he lied about Hassan and broke Ali's and Baba's friendship.

Chapter 22 Comparison

Comparing the movie and the book, in terms of what chapter 22 is, would give us a very good contrast between differences and similarities, you could even say they're the same but in the book it is more descriptive, it allows for more details and what Amir thinks of everything as times goes by and events are taking place.

Main Differences:
.- Amount of description in the scenes. In the book you could tell how everything was happening perfectly, compared to the movie where you had to use past events to tell how Amir and Assef thought.

.-Some extra dialogue, involving the moment when Assef got in jail and telling the guards not to enter the room again until someone got out alive.

Main Similarities:
.-Dialogue. It was almost the same. I would say that almost all of the dialogue that was in the movie could also be read in the book, nevertheless that doesn't mean that all of the dialogue in the book was in the movie, since the book had a more descriptive timeline.
.-Events. Same as before, everything that happened was the same, with the exception of a few dialogues, but the event itself was basically represented the same as in the movie.

Concluding we could say that it is a really good adaption into a movie, since it conserves as many details as possible and is as similar as possible.

Written Assignment, "The Kite Runner", Creative Writing (607 words)

My dear Amir,
I hope this letter actually arrives to you, maybe it is all covered in dust by the time it reaches you, who knows, you may be a famous story teller by now. Amir of mine, I am old, I am decaying, so before is too late I want to tell you secrets I have kept away from you all this years, I want to leave clean from this world. By now you may know the thrush behind the lies, but I fell that the best way is to prove it through my own words. Amir, you have a brother, one that was with you through your entire childhood, I know you have knowledge of who I am talking about. Hassan, he is your brother, the story behind it is the following, it all started a month from your mother's death, I was heartbroken and Sanaubar was the only one around to support me, at first it was just a game somehow, but it started to get serious within a year, nine months later, Hassan was born. I looked for any possibility of him not being mine, but when I found out that Amir was not able to conceive it was all clear, he was mine, the boy between me and a Hazara woman. I did not told anyone, the only people that knew it where, aside from me, Rahim Khan, Ali, and of course, Sanaubar. the reason of why I kept it a secret was because back in Kabul the only thing our family had was honor, but I did not wanted to protect my honor, wanted to protect yours, therefore, you. I wanted to protect you from the opinion of the rest, from the look that people would've thrown at you when you walked through the streets of Kabul. When Sanaubar left I made a promise to myself, I will take care of Hassan without doubt, but admitting he was my son was an unthinkable decision, regardless of this you two grew up together as true brothers. Hassan being mine was one of the main reason of why I reacted so desperately when Ali decided to leave the house I felt like he was taking away a part of me, I could not imagine him serving other person, anyone that would not treat him and his family as well as I did. Maybe at this point of of reading this letter a bit of the respect for me has faded, taking with it part of the credibility of our relationship. You may be still wondering why I did this, why I hid it from you?, so many question popping simultaneously on your head. The answer, once again, it was to protect you, all I wanted was to give you a peaceful life, without complications, no troubles surrounding your life, it was not for me, it was for you. Amir, I want to leave this world with you aknowledging my love towards you, so I want you to know, I do not blame you for your mother's death, that is my problem, I love you Amir, but with her death she took away that sentimental part of me. I admire the way you face life, the different, alternative, point of view you have for your existence and the way you face adversities. I love you Amir and I will always do, and when I leave this world I want you to remember me as the man who took care of you, who raised you, who loved you, I want to be remembered as you father.

Best of my wishes for your life Amir
                                                     ~Baba

Written Assignment, "The Kite Runner", Rationale

"The Kite Runner" tells the story of Amir, an afghan kid who spent his childhood on Kabul, alongside with his servant's child, Hassan. the novel tells the way how Amir faces adversities, leaving his hometown due to a soviet invasion, realizing that his childhood friend is no longer with him, and finding out that Hassan was actually his brother. The following letter is discovered years later from Baba's death when Amir goes through Baba's old things. On the letter he explains the reasons behind Hassan's birth and why he kept it a secret from him. He tells him on the letter when the relationship with Sanaubar (Hassan's mother) started, how he feels about it, and many other aspects on the relation between Amir and Him. The reason why all of this is written on a letter and not through other way is because this text type is the most frequent and the most accurate way to tell messages inside the novel.

Discussion About In Vitro Fertilisation

Manri: Have you heard about this new technique that allows couples to choose the sex, eye colour, hair colour, etc., it is called in Vitro Fertilisation, I am totally against it, but how about you?

Acho: I am pro in Vitro Fertilisation because couples get the chance  to choose how they want their children to look, also it allows people who struggle having babies to do it.

M: That's a good point, but I'm talking about the who can perfectly have babies by their own but take the unethical decision of using this process to choose how they want their child to look like, that's wrong, you can't decide what you get, thisain't build-a-baby.com

A: That's a well stated point of view, but, with this process couples can ensure that their child won't have mentally or physical complications which will maybe won't let him have a fully active life or limitations in it's future.

(light signal in the sky)

M: Nice conversation! Gotta go!

A: Why?

M: (deep voice) I'm Batman

Moodle Assignment

1.- Racist Graffiti:

Probably located at some city near the frontier with Mexico, it aims to all the inmigrants that come from southamerica, you can clearly see the purpose behind the graffiti is to, somehow, intimidate the "Latinos" to leave the country.

2.- Anti-racist poster:

Found anywhere on the internet, propably as a sign or at TV. The idea is to communicate everyone that sees it to, as it says, "stop racism from invading football"

3.- Photo of a teen Muslim:

She is “different” to me because of her religión, we can see that she is a muslim, i think that she might find hard to fit in the chilean society, nota all, but there are a lot of people that dont like being closet o people who are different and cant even trust people who have different race/religión/appeareance.

4.-  Incidents at school

I will not refer to just one incident, there are a lot of students at our school that are bullied because of their weight, this topic is kind of cliché, but its something real, its something that is happening until today.

5.- What is Racism?

racism is the lack of tolerance, and the lack of tolerance against or about the human being is a thing that not olny affects convivence but also the dignity of people, the worst is that it focuses on the physical appareances of the person, and this action finally lead to extreme movements that affect the convivence and democracy on the civilicized world. (Opinion of Miss Juanita Larraín)

6.- Movie about Racism:

12 years a slave: I mean, its clearly about racism, its about a free african-american, who is a violinist, who literally gets kidnapped and sold as a slave, totally ignoring all of his rights as a citizen. There , at the plantation where he is forced to work, he has to face the cruel reality of almost every african-american of the time, doing unpaid work, from sun to sun and without enough food to stay on his feet all day. At the movie we can see how they are treated by the white men and how they fight for their freedom.
